Personal Trainers and How to Pick a Good One
In 2003, after losing 107lbs I began my quest for fitness. My husband bought me a membership to a fitness center (I asked him for it! Guys, do not buy your wife a gym membership unless she asks). I joined a class put on by a personal trainer. It was OK and I did learn some things, but 4 Saturdays of 90 minute classes really did not do the trick.

Food/Mood Journal
I have my clients fill out a Food/Mood Journal and exercise journal. I often find that what my clients eats may affect their mood. Once we understand the trigger or food, we adjust to eliminate that food and see if improvement is achieved.

I can't tell you how many times I would start a new diet or workout routine, ready to conquer the entire world! And then a bad day would ruin an afternoon, day or sometimes even a week.
Guess what, I ALLOWED that to happen and I WILL NEVER do that anymore, because I deserve better than that. Now I try and keep a positive attitude especially on stressful or difficult days.

Eating healthy can be one of the hardest life changes that you will encounter. Eating healthy takes preparation and pre-planning which in today's world can be quite difficult.
My clients ask me, should I buy no fat cheese? I say no way, you need some fat in your diet, just keep it under 20%. Then I tell them to cut out the sugar!
